Hey Monte,
The Boston PD was doing their job, the protesters were not to be where they were. They did not have a permit to be on the greenway and they were told not to be there yet they did anyway. The Police were only doing their job, so don't frame it as the police beating up on innocents. I don't care what the reason why they had no permit for the greenway but they did not have permission to be there and I think in all major cities the cops have been pretty good. Talk about wasting money NY has spent 1.9 million on police to be around the protesters. My two cents

That's exactly the point of civil disobedience. People take to the streets to force politicians and the rest of society to sit up and pay attention. It's not about the cops, per se, it's about getting attention, and they've succeeded marvelously in doing just that. They've called the bluff of every Tea Partier and right-wing hack talking head out there.

I didn't say anything about Republicans.
My point is that the Tea Party pretends to speak truth to power and pretends to stand up for Main Street against Wall Street, but all they've ever really done is peddle in ridiculous conspiracy theories.
You all make is seem as though people cannot be outraged by behavior that is technically legal, even if it's immoral. The outrage is completely justified. And the more we've learned about the behavior of these firms, the clearer it has become that what they did actually was illegal in many cases.
And even if it weren't, I'd be more than pleased if prosecutors found other ways of putting these crooks in jail. They figured out a way to get Al Capone, didn't they? Anyone feel sorry for him?

Well, that Al Capone bit was mainly just a rant. My point is that tax evasion was the least of his crimes, but they used that to nail him because it was their strongest case. I'm just hoping that if the feds can't nail Goldman for securities fraud or perjury that they have something else up their sleeve.

Yes, and continuing from my first post (above):
The General Assembly process being used by OWS involves using
four different "voting gestures" being put out in real-time by protesters. We 99 % occupiers are voting by signaling with arms and hands as issues are brought up, discussed, and decided in real-time. Teach-ins are a huge component at the NYC OWS location. Civil Disobedience, Teach-Ins, PR and News, social networking, making signs, cleaning up, providing food and water, and providing first aid are all components of the growing OWS movement. Fort Collins Occupation is just getting started. We had about 140 show up on our first day, yesterday. Denver has been occupied for about one week.

Monte, what is THE endgame you hope for in the OWS Movement?
I'd say putting BACK the regulations that controlled a lot of what wallstreet did. I'd say VOTE in the right people to do the job, this is supposedly a representative democracy, bring BACK that system instead of the OWS Mob-ocrasy that it's becoming.
A lot of anarchists and freaks will take over that movement, much like radical Islam is taking over the mideast "Freedom" movement.
As long as our Representative Democracy is renewed, and Wall street is under control, your best bet is our voting power. The nuts and freaks will always try to hijack well meaning movements and point blame-game fingers because they want more BIG BROTHER CONTROL, not less government control and more personal responsibility.
A lot of peoples probs in the housing thing was their OWN living beyond their means and not taking financial responsibility in their own lives. True reform starts in YOUR life, not the peeps the media blames. YOU!!!
Lets have a REAL revolution to control our borders from the illegals taking work from Legal citizens!
Where the F is that movement, other than the kind people (99%)in the Teaparty??

If people actually attended a Teaparty and actually LISTENED to what the speakers say instead of getting VERY biased views from the media, they would realize that most of the people who attend and speak are NOT racists or anti-poor. A big controlling government is not the answer.
